Hattie Carnegie is an influential female designer known the world over for her hats and fine jewelry. Her designs contained flash flair and glossy high end style which enticed wealthy buyers and everyday woman alike. Owning a Hattie Carnegie was de rigueur for any fashionable woman of the 1950s and 1960s.
This Hattie Carnegie felt hat is a total 1960s stunner! The red material is an amazingly soft red felt with a higher pile and in wonderful shape. The shape of the hat has been beautifully maintained over the years, preserving the lines of the hat. The black rings covering the hat are made of the same high pile soft felt and measure 1.75” in diameter. The hat has a short back and wide brim front reminiscent of 1930s style measuring 4” at the front down to no brim at the nape of the neck. A lovely gross grain ribbon detail rests underneath the folded up brim at the back of the hat. This hat's luxurious fabric and construction paired with such whimsical style is indicative of the Hattie Carnegie aesthetic. Fits a size: 7 1/2 (US)
